Origin
Southern Japan. China (Anhuei, Zhejiang).
Local name
Okame-zasa (Japan) * Withstands -22ºC
Features
Very particular-looking bamboo with a false Ruscus appearance (small holly) due to its short and wide leaves, of a noble green. It develops in dense clumps and does not let the stems show.
Care
In direct sunlight, in southern countries, its leaves tend to yellow. Install it in shaded areas knowing, however, that by being placed completely in the shade, it will become less dense.
Uses
Borders, small free or pruned hedges, ground cover, massifs.
Benefits
Its foliage gives it a unique look among dwarf bamboos. It lends itself perfectly to pruning and allows for splendid massifs or low hedges.
