It changes with the seasons. The young stems in spring reveal sheaths fall, bright yellow internodes streaked with green. In summer the tender green of the foliage rivals the coppery yellow stems. From the first cold days of autumn and throughout winter, young stems exposed to light turn red giving this bamboo an incomparable appeal.
If the excess foliage hides the stems, do not hesitate to prune the leafy branches to take advantage of the show.
