The leaves are very wide in relation to the length. This characteristic contributes to give the vegetation an impression of opulence. The short branches are very close to the stem, which is always very straight. The density of the leaves, which increases over the years, gives the stems the very interesting aspect of columns with leaves.
More in direct sunlight than shade. It withstands the wind very well, once implanted.
Hedges, windbreak, isolated tufts, flowerbeds.
Its bearing and wide leaves distinguish it from other bamboos of its size.
