China – highly cultivated in Tibet * Withstands -18ºC
Very hard, slightly rough stem, with very dense foliage. Like many bamboos, the parts of the culms in the shade are green and those exposed to the sun turn yellow.
Not too demanding on the nature of the soil, even accepting poorly drained land.
Hedge, windbreak, massifs, isolated tufts.
The sliced sections, even when exposed to the sun, rarely split.
