Features
Very straight stems, sometimes with zigzagging between the knots at the base, bright dark green. Leaves 12 to 15 cm long and 2 to 3 cm wide, intense green. Light foliage. The leaves come out of the ground late (June/July).
Care
It has no particular requirements but it will not reach an important height, except in good weather, sunshine, and crop care.
Uses
Isolated tufts and small woodlands
Benefits
Besides its ornamental interest, it provides wood with excellent properties of strength and elasticity. Widely used in Japan, its sprouts are edible and highly appreciated.
